Catch up on Zero Trust webinar with our CEO Paul German
The concept of ‘Zero Trust’ is not new; in fact, it was originally defined in Stephen Paul Marsh’s doctoral thesis on computational security in 1994. Reignited by Forrester’s John Kindervag in the late 2000s, it became a key cybersecurity concept, highlighting that would-be attacks could come from both inside, as well as outside, an organization’s network.
In today’s cybersecurity landscape, amid heightened threats to data and increasingly stringent regulation imposed on a variety of industries, a Zero Trust mindset has become an operational necessity. Fundamentally, a Zero Trust posture must be achievable without compromising the network’s performance, allowing users with authenticated and authorized access to the data they need to do their jobs seamlessly.
Our CEO, Paul German, recently joined a panel of industry experts for a webinar on Zero Trust, organized by Top Business Tech. The discussion highlighted the implications of remote working on cybersecurity and the importance of ownership and trust, with employees working on networks which are not necessarily owned by their company. Adoption was another key theme, with panel members offering practical tips and explaining why implementing a Zero Trust policy is a continual process, involving a shift in mindset. Looking forward, the conversation also covered what the future holds for both vendors and users.
